Preorder LG's new gaming monitor and get a $200 gift card with this Black Friday deal
As we approach Black Friday and Cyber Week, LG has opened preorders for a brand-new display: the 27-inch UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitor GX7. This is a fantastic screen for yourself or for that gamer in your life. It gives players a level of performance that’ll help them climb up the leaderboards and sports an immersive design. I’m seriously considering picking one up for myself and ditching my old Acer monitor. This is the upgrade that I’ve been waiting for.

As mentioned, it is a 27-inch monitor, which is a perfect fit for small desks and won’t take up much space. LG’s device sports a QuadHD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) OLED display, ensuring vibrant colors and high-resolution images. Everything will pop out at you. It covers 98.5% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. This UltraGear GX7 also supports a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio and DisplayHDR True Black 400. Everything works together to enable stunning visuals.
Gamers, in particular, will appreciate its compatibility with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync. These two pieces of software collaborate to deliver super smooth gameplay. There won’t be any screen tearing, ghosting, or other weird monitor issues. If you just look at the fact that it’s OLED and supports AMD FreeSync, the LG UltraGear GX7 isn’t that impressive. Other monitors have similar features. But what makes this screen special is the absurd 480Hz refresh rate.

High refresh rates are vital to the PC gaming experience, and are something that I personally hold above high resolutions. A lightning-fast rate ensures velvety smooth animations onscreen and reduces lag to be almost non-existent. It greatly enhances the gaming and viewing experience. Once you play an online match on a speedy monitor, you’ll be spoiled forever, speaking from experience. As the cherry on top of this tech sundae, LG’s display has a 0.03ms response time, further boosting its speed.
The UltraGear GX7 can be pre-ordered for $1,000 on LG’s website. If you buy it before the deal ends, you’ll receive a free $200 virtual gift card from Mastercard. You do have quite a bit of time to purchase this monitor. According to an LG representative, pre-orders will last until Dec. 22, 2024. Shipping will begin “during the week of [December 30] or as soon as they become available.”
The deal expires on Dec. 22, the same day LG’s new gaming goes on sale. After that, you won’t be able to receive your free virtual gift card. It’s unknown at this time whether or not the deal will extend past that date. It’s entirely possible that it could continue past the holiday season and into 2025. It’s also possible that we could see a discounted price during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, which in 2024, is Nov. 29. It’s a big sales event where all sorts of tech gadgets, computers, cameras, and more are discounted across the internet. After the weekend passes, we go into Cyber Monday which is essentially the second round of Black Friday. Deep discounts crop up again.
The following days after Cyber Monday is known as Cyber Week. Similarly, many products on Amazon, Walmart, and other platforms go on sale for a third time as online retailers attempt to entice shoppers before the holiday season.
