Much like your own New Year’s resolutions, Samsung seems to be going all-in on health this year. The tech giant unveiled several new Samsung Health features at its Unpacked event on Wednesday, alongside the launch of its Galaxy S25 phone lineup.

The features provide a more personalized approach to wellness, from health coaches that provide recommendations based on the data gathered to your bedroom environment before bedtime. Many of these features are coming soon, according to Praveen Raja, who presented them at the Unpacked event

Mental health support and mindfulness features

Galaxy Ring and Watch wearers already receive daily notifications that summarize health data and provide prompts, insights, and coaching to improve sleep and energy scores on the Samsung Health app. Now, Samsung is implementing that same approach to mental health, too.

While it’s easy for a wearable to gather heart rate data and turn that into activity insights and suggestions, it’s much harder to do so with mental health. My guess is that Samsung will include a mood-logging feature within the Health app to make this happen.

The Health app will also include features for monitoring your mood and integrating mindfulness activities into your daily routine.

Health records within the Samsung Health app

Keep your health records all in one place by uploading documents into the Samsung Health app. The feature is now available in the US and India, and Samsung claims that it keeps the records “securely stored, encrypted and protected.”

Smart home optimization for sleep environment

Samsung will use your sleep data to optimize your bedroom environment before you call it a day. This could include adjusting the temperature, air quality, and lighting of your bedroom to get you to sleep quicker. Raja even mentioned a Samsung TV being turned off once a wearable detects that the wearer has fallen asleep.

Antioxidant intake and vascular load indicator

Samsung unveiled a new feature within the Samsung Health app that measures and notifies users of their daily antioxidant intake. It didn’t explain how it would go about measuring this, though I wonder if it will take notes from Oura’s meal logging feature, which uses photos and AI to analyze and record ingredients and do the same for the Antioxidant Intake feature. The feature will be hitting the Health app later this year.

The company also unveiled a vascular load indicator (vaguely similar to Oura’s Cardio Capacity) that informs users of how their activities impact their heart health, to provide actionable insights on reducing strain and promoting good heart health.
