The 6 most exciting Lenovo laptops at MWC 2025 – including a foldable

MWC 2025, or the Mobile World Conference, has officially kicked off in Barcelona. It’s an annual conference where tech companies come together to showcase upcoming mobile devices.
Lenovo has joined the festivities by unveiling a slew of new laptops, from lightweight machines like the convertible ThinkPad T14s to powerful workhorses such as the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition. In addition to these computers, the company showed off some very interesting prototypes.

It’s unknown if the concept hardware will ever be made into official products, but it provides interesting insight into what may be coming in the not-so-distant future. Something to keep in mind is the information in the following list could change. A few models have expected starting prices and release dates, but nothing is set in stone.
1. ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1
Kicking things off is the ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1, the first convertible laptop of its series. This means the display sits on a 360-degree hinge and can be pushed back to turn into a tablet. Since it’s primarily a work laptop, it favors functionality over style.
This ThinkPad T14s houses a 14-inch WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) resolution touchscreen with a choice between a 500-nit or 400-nit display. The latter isn’t as bright as the former, but it ensures a longer battery life. The company states its TrackPoint Keyboard has “tactile ergonomic refinements [to] deliver all-day comfort”

I tested the previous version, the ThinkPad T14s, earlier in the year, and I thought it was a great laptop for professional users. On the surface, it appears this new model will provide a similar experience. However, I did notice a few distinct differences, like how it runs on Intel hardware instead of AMD. It also has a higher memory limit of 64GB, so the model will probably be quite a bit faster.
The ThinkPad T14s launches June 2025 with an expected starting price of $1,719.
2. ThinkPad X13 Gen 6
Next is the sixth-generation ThinkPad X13. The X13 line consists of ultraportable laptops, and the upcoming model is no different. In fact, Lenovo boasts it is one of the company’s “lightest ThinkPad designs ever” at just 2.05 pounds. To put that into perspective, the fifth-generation model clocked in at 2.65 pounds. The upcoming release is, however, a little thicker at 0.7 inches (the older computer was 0.6 inches) Additionally, it lacks a flexible hinge. The 6th-gen X13 has a traditional clamshell design.

Shoppers can choose to equip the machine with either an Intel Core Ultra or AMD Ryzen AI Pro processor, both of which are configurable to have up to 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM. Lenovo’s device even utilizes artificial intelligence to help with automation and enhance certain tools.
Lenovo does not say what these tools are, but the 5MP + IR webcam is a likely candidate. AI software can help improve video call clarity. Other notable features include support for Wi-Fi 7 and a 5G Sub6 modem for cellular connectivity. The ThinkPad X13 Gen 6 also launches later this June with an expected starting price of $1,139.
3. Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition
Running contrary to the previously demure entries, this upcoming Yoga Pro 9i model exudes power. The Aura Edition houses the latest hardware, such as an Intel Core Ultra processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card. Don’t be fooled by the inclusion of a gaming GPU, as the machine is meant to tackle heavy, creative-driven workloads like video editing and music composition.

To support users’ creative endeavors, the laptop will have helpful software such as Lenovo Creator Zone, which you can think of as the brand’s version of Microsoft Copilot. It is an on-device AI assistant that produces and refines the content you make. There’s also Lenovo X Power. It utilizes machine learning to optimize the computer’s performance to best suit users’ needs for certain tasks.
The laptop sports a 16-inch 3.2K PureSight Pro display that the company claims is in tandem with OLED technology. It supports multiple color spaces to achieve high “true-to-life accuracy.” The Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition launches sometime in Q2 2025 with a potential starting price of $1,799.
4. IdeaPad Slim 3x
Most of the laptops in Lenovo’s reveal are pretty expensive, although there were a few low-cost options, such as the new tenth-generation IdeaPad Slim 3x. As the name suggests, it’s a lightweight device weighing roughly 3.5 pounds and measuring 9.43 x 13.52 x 0.67 inches.
Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon X, a chipset first revealed during CES 2025. It enables midrange laptops to deliver speedy performance and a long-lasting battery. It even harnesses AI to boost its hardware. According to the company, the neural processing unit enables “faster drafting”, editing, and content generation.

Looking at the official specs sheet, the IdeaPad Slim 3x excels in other areas. It’ll have a 15.1 WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) OLED touchscreen for vibrant visuals. Lenovo allows for some customization as there is a second storage slot where you can install an extra 1TB SSD. And it even supports Wi-Fi 7 for lightning-fast internet.
The IdeaPad Slim 3x will be the first of these entries to launch. It will be released later this month for $649.
5. ThinkBook Flip and Yoga Solar
As for the prototypes mentioned earlier, there is the ThinkBook “codename Flip” AI PC and the Yoga Solar.
The former sports a massive 18.1-inch OLED display that can fold backward down the middle. Bending the screen shrinks it down to a 13-inch display. Lenovo states that the bendable screen aims to help with multitasking by providing a large workspace without needing a second monitor. The Workspace Split Screen feature allows users to run “multiple applications side by side.”
The ThinkBook Flip can operate under “five distinct modes,” including Vertical Mode for reading documents and Tablet Mode for more “creative workloads.”
The Yoga Solar is a laptop with solar panels behind the display. It leverages “Back Contact Cell technology” to maximize sunlight absorption. According to the company, its panel can convert more than 24% of the sunlight it receives into electricity. Features like the Solar-First Energy system allow the device to prioritize sending harvested energy to the key components. Lenovo states exposing the panels to the sun for 20 minutes provides one hour of video playback.
Writer’s take
The concept devices are interesting for sure, but whether either of them will become proper products remains a mystery. I would love to see the ThinkBook Flip roll out in some form. I could see it as part of the ThinkBook Plus series, which includes a laptop with an e-ink display and a Windows/Android hybrid.
The other four appear to be solid additions for their respective lines, especially the Yoga Pro 9i, which piques my interest the most. I’m looking forward to the day when I can try them out.
