Updates to Cisco’s Executive Leadership Team
Alongside earnings today, we announced some changes to Cisco’s Executive Leadership team. First, Scott Herren has decided to retire at the end of FY25 after nearly five impactful years with the company. With this, I’m excited to share that Mark Patterson, our current Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, will step into the role as Cisco’s Chief Financial Officer, on day one of fiscal year 2026. I am also happy to share that Jeetu Patel, our current Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer, is being promoted to President and Chief Product Officer, effective immediately.
CFO Transition: Mark Patterson to become CFO after Scott Herren’s retirement
After joining Cisco in December of 2020, Scott helped us navigate so many external dynamics as we successfully transitioned our business towards more software and recurring revenue to drive greater predictability as well as customer and shareholder value. His unwavering commitment to strengthening our business, making it more resilient, and positioning it for growth has been instrumental in Cisco’s success.
Mark has been at Cisco for nearly 25 years, holding leadership positions across finance, strategy, and operations. He also spent more than a decade in sales, working in roles that spanned every customer segment and geography. Most recently, leading our Corporate Strategy, Development, and Incubation Organization, Mark’s focus has been on connecting our longer-term strategy and investments with our immediate and urgent growth opportunities. The breadth of his experience, along with his deep knowledge of Cisco and our customers, partners, and investor community, uniquely position him to help accelerate Cisco’s growth in this new role.
Over the course of the next few months, Scott and Mark will work closely to ensure a smooth transition, after which Scott will move into an advisory role through April 2026. We will also begin an immediate internal search to identify a new leader for the Corporate Strategy, Development, and Incubation Organization, which Mark now leads.
Promotion of Jeetu Patel to President and Chief Product Officer
Under Jeetu’s leadership over the past nine months, we’ve unified our product vision and strategy, driven greater product integration, and accelerated innovation to market. Jeetu’s strong vision for the power of our portfolio gives me great confidence in our ability to lead in AI through exceptional products and user experiences.
These changes mark an exciting next chapter for our company as we continue to accelerate Cisco’s growth and deliver unmatched value for our customers and partners in the AI era. With our strong leadership, innovative technology, and amazing teams, I am incredibly optimistic about the future we are building together.
