Travel chargers and power banks have become a staple of my travel kit. They give me the ability to keep things topped up when out and about — and during those unexpected delays — while giving my ever-growing tech collection a full recharge when I’ve got a power outlet nearby.

But what happens when you combine a travel charger with a power bank? You get the InfinaCore P3 Pro — a portable travel charger in one.

On the travel charger front, the P3 Pro features two USB-C ports capable of a maximum of 65W, a USB-A port with a maximum output of 18W, and a MagSafe compatible Qi2 wireless charging pad with a 15W maximum output.

On one side is a foldable U.S.-compatible plug that can accept three adapters for UK, EU, and Australian sockets (type G, type C, and type I plugs, respectively), making it compatible with over 190 countries across the globe.

Inside the P3 Pro is a 10,000 mAh battery, which is ample power to keep a couple of smartphones topped up during a busy day of traveling, or to give your 14-inch MacBook Pro a 40% battery boost. The battery capacity is such that it is airline compliant and you should have no problems taking this onto a flight as part of your carry on luggage.

The battery is recharged every time the P3 Pro is connected to a mains outlet, and it can also be charged from a USB charger via one of the USB-C ports for total flexibility.

On one side of the unit is an LCD screen showing you what the charger is up to, allowing you to keep an eye on temperature, charge time, battery health, and power stats in real time.

There’s also a button that turns the charger on, which helps prevent accidental discharge when in a bag or suitcase.

The only thing that the P3 Pro doesn’t have is the ability to accept a mains plug to allow it to become a travel adapter (like the Tessan travel adapters I’ve tested previously), but I find that I need this less and less as I travel now, with everything I own happy to be recharged using USB.

What’s more, is the 65W USB-C output means that I could leave my bulky MacBook charger at home and live with the compromise of a charger that is ample, but doesn’t support the full 140W for high-speed recharging.

The button at the top prevents the unit from turning on accidentally.

On the corner there’s also a soft silicone carrying tab (along with a replacement) and a carabiner to lash the charger to a convenient point.

Lastly, InfinaCore offers a 99-year warranty, which is about as good as it gets at least in terms of lifespan.

ZDNET’s buying advice

The InfinaCore P3 Pro is definitely an interesting concept, and it’s been very well executed here. It’s both a great travel charger and great power bank, and it’s unusual to find a device that does two things well. Priced at $125, it commands a premium price, but if you want to lighten your travel load, then this could very well be the must-have travel accessory that you’ve been looking for.
