New VMware Cloud Ready Framework (VMCRF) and Tech Zone Updates – Cloud Blog – VMware

Earlier this year, we announced the VMware Cloud Ready Framework (VMCRF) and released an initial whitepaper. This whitepaper established the core foundation and general direction of the VMCRF and introduced the VMware pillars of Plan, Build, Secure, Modernize, and Operate. These VMware pillars are the building blocks that provide technical guidance and a consistent approach for any organization to meet its business objectives and digital transformation goals. In addition to the Framework, another goal of the VMCRF is to provide associated multi-cloud technical and educational collateral in various formats in a centralized repository. Today we are excited to announce several new updates to resources that can help organizations with their cloud readiness journey.

VMCRF – Plan Pillar

To start, we are releasing the first of the five VMCRF pillars, Plan. This pillar provides the necessary guidance to help organizations start preparing for their transformative initiative. The Plan pillar itself is composed up of several corresponding documents, which also includes the VMware Cloud Infrastructure Service providers:

The Plan pillar content will reside on the new VMware Cloud Tech Zone site, here, and is presented in an easy-to-follow activity path.  

VMware Cloud Tech Zone

Speaking of VMware Cloud Tech Zone, today we’ve updated the site providing a new VMware Cloud home page which also includes all VMware Cloud Infrastructure service providers. VMware Cloud Tech Zone will be the centralized repository for technical and educational collateral in various formats, including the VMCRF and VMware Cloud designlets. The navigation has also been updated, providing different paths based on the selected content; for example, you can start your journey learning about the various use cases for VMware cloud, then select a particular Infrastructure service provider. Each of these pages also has a tool and resources section linking to additional corresponding resources based on the chosen navigation path. VMware Cloud Tech Zone will feature various content formats including activity paths, designlets, architecture guides, videos, and more. To gain the most from your Tech Zone experience, we recommend logging in using your Customer Connect credentials. This will allow you to pin your favorite content, replay searches, and more!

VMware Cloud Designlets

With the launch of the updated VMware Cloud Tech Zone, there is also new content available in the form of designlets for each VMware Cloud Infrastructure Cloud Provider. In addition, there are also Hands-On-Labs that cover deployments, migrations, and more!

We will continue to expand and build upon the VMware Cloud Ready Framework with additional pillars and related content.
