Dedicated Hosts, Operational Alerts and More in vRealize Automation Cloud; 11.20 Launch Update – VMware Cloud Community

Control over AWS instances and collaboration between vRealize Automation and Operations are just two of the latest features to be added to vRealize Automation Cloud.

The November launch of vRealize Automation Cloud delivers support for new multi-cloud endpoints and continues to beat the drum in terms of helping organizations to operationalize cloud environments.

Let’s take a look at the highlights.

Amazon EC2 Dedicated Instances

You can now include EC2 Dedicated Instances as native VMware Cloud Templates objects for better isolation and control. Dedicated Instances run in a VPC and are physically isolated from instances that belong to other AWS accounts. Additionally, with Dedicated Hosts, you get visibility and control over where your instances are placed, and you have the ability to bring your own software licenses for corporate and regulatory compliance and savings.

Alert visibility and actions

Customers constantly ask us to bring the two vRealize pillars, Automation and Operations, even closer together. We have listened. After adding Cloud Zone Insights with our 10.20 launch, we are now bringing alerts from vRealize Operations Cloud into the vRealize Automation Cloud interface – with smart action options making it easier than ever to stay on top of your cloud operations. Stay tuned for more features in this space!

More features

Several more features have been added to our SaaS product this month:

  • The latest Terraform provider for vRealize Automation (v0.3.3) is now verified and has support for First Class Disk (FCD) along with several other storage-related enhancements.
  • IPAM integration with Infoblox is one of the most popular ones – this month, we have made it easier to manage scaled environments using network filtration to select the relevant networks.
  • New innovations on network automation are added, with load balancer health monitors and security groups configurations available upon provisioning or on Day 2+.
