You’re in the endgame now, so it’s time to clean up and get any lose-ends tied up. If you haven’t already:
- Stop by the AWS “Ask the Experts” area. Get to know the architects and product managers supporting your most commonly used services. Talk to them about your needs, how the services should evolve, and recommend what you want to see in the future. Need chron jobs in SageMaker? Now is the time and place to recommend it. Something wrong with the static code analysis in CodeGuru? Show the person who is responsible for it what needs to be tweaked.
- Plan for 2022 – You’ve got some projects coming up next year. What’s the best way to implement it? Are there new architectures or services you’ve yet to utilize or could utilize better? Today’s keynote highlighted how Aurora was created from a relational database outage at Amazon. Can you fix or rearchitect something for your business in 2022? Create a plan and research it here.
- Network. There are 20,000 people here, and most of them are running the exact services you are. Talk to the people in your sessions about what they are doing, how they are doing it, and work on implementing the best practices you learn. Connect with them and ask questions – learn from the people in your industry or are simply ahead of where you are.
- Get certified – if you have not, go take your certification test – this is a great place to learn and ask questions to sharpen your skills
Stop by your favorite vendor’s booth at 777 to wrap up your week on a high note. Trend Micro has a 1:8 chance of giving you a DJI Mini Drone – and you get to test your skills in a real-time challenge. Those are great odds for both.
