Cisco Participates in VP Harris’ Digital Coalition Roundtable in Africa

Today, Cisco participated in U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris’ Digital Coalition Roundtable in Lusaka, Zambia to meet with public and private sector leaders and explore pathways to advance digital inclusion and digital connectivity in Africa.
“Deepening U.S.-Africa relations, bridging the digital divide on the continent, and empowering the people of Africa with digital skills for the jobs of today and the future will require the investment and commitment of the public and private sectors together,” said Reem Asaad, Cisco’s Vice President of the Middle East and Africa.
“At December’s U.S.-Africa Business Forum in Washington, Cisco unveiled its initiative with the Biden administration to train 3 million people in Africa over the next 10 years through our global IT skills-to-jobs program known as Cisco Networking Academy. The Digital Coalition Roundtable hosted today by Vice President Harris was an opportunity for us to carry that momentum forward and explore how the power of public-private partnerships can build growth, stimulate job creation, and power a more inclusive future in Africa.”
