Connected and Protected at Cisco Live
Co-authored by Frank Lento, Sr. Director, Global Security Sales, Partnerships & Ecosystems
Cisco Live is here again! The Cisco Security team is very excited about the opportunity to connect and engage with our partners onsite at the event. Our announcements at the event will continue to deliver on our commitment to lead in the security market and to be your vendor of choice to solve for your customers security challenges with speed, innovation and quality while driving your profitability. At the RSA Conference 2023, we built on our Security Cloud vision with the announcement of Cisco XDR. This week at Cisco Live US 2023 we will continue to drive our momentum in the market with the announcement of new security products Cisco Secure Access, Cisco Multicloud Defense, and the Cisco Secure Firewall 4200 series appliance, as well as continuing our commitment to quality with a major release of 7.4 of our Secure Firewall software. Additionally, we will be previewing the first generative AI capabilities in the Security Cloud. So, let’s take a closer look at each announcement and what this innovation means to you, our valued partners.
Frictionless Access
Customers continue to struggle with the security implications brought on by hybrid work and complex IT management from too many tools from multiple vendors with little integration or shared telemetry. To help solve this we are excited to introduce our Security Service Edge (SSE) solution, Cisco Secure Access. Cisco Secure Access provides secure frictionless access to all applications from any location on any managed and unmanaged device. For people managing that experience, they can see all traffic, set all policy, and analyze security risks from one place. The result is security that is better for users, easier for IT, and safer for everyone. Cisco Secure Access is built with integrations across the Cisco portfolio and third-party products. As a Cisco Partner there is a great services opportunity for you to build and deliver custom integration and implementation services. In addition, you can position Cisco Secure Access as a cross-sell or upsell opportunity when selling a third-party tool that is integrated into the product. Cisco Secure Access is cloud-delivered so you also get the benefit of offering a SaaS solution to improve your customer lifecycle selling and creating reoccurring revenue streams.
“At WWT we provide solutions and services that help our customers achieve their desired business outcomes, securely. As a Cisco partner, we are really excited about the innovation Cisco has announced with the launch of their Cisco Secure Access solution. With Cisco Secure Access we can help our customers reduce the footprint on managed endpoints, thanks to a single client that leverages ZTNA and secure remote access technologies, protecting against threats on both internet and private traffic.”
– Chris Konrad, Area Vice President – Global Cyber, WWT
Simplify Multicloud Security Complexity
Following our recent acquisition of Valtix, we are excited to introduce Cisco Multicloud Defense. Multicloud Defense extends the traditional firewall concept into a service-oriented, multicloud world. Cisco Multicloud Defense reduces complexity by consolidating cloud networking and security functions in one place while offering organizations the freedom to be cloud agnostic. Security Operations teams can now manage security across AWS, GCP, Azure, and OCI with a single policy, in real-time, from a single SaaS platform. This presents a unique opportunity for our partners who leverage these cloud service providers in their managed security offerings. Cisco Multicloud Defense is available today and you can learn more here.
Innovating at the Security Foundation
The firewall continues to be the foundation of a customer’s security stack and the demands on it continue to grow. The new Cisco Secure Firewall 4200 Series raises the bar for performance, throughput, and flexibility at a great price. In addition, we are announcing the latest 7.4 version of the operating system, coupled with the Secure Firewall 4200 series, customers get the benefit of AI/ML to deliver encrypted threat blocking without decryption, an evolution of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) with complete threat inspection and policy for each individual application, and simplified branch routing. These capabilities bring security, control, and visibility to traffic from remote offices to applications in hybrid datacenters. Cisco Secure Firewall 4200 Series appliance will be generally available in September supporting the 7.4 version of operating system. The 7.4 OS will be generally available for the rest of the Secure Firewall appliance family in December 2023. Partners can leverage discount deal differential via Security Deal registration to maximize your profitability when selling Secure Firewall. Also, partners can attach our Security Step-up Promotion and add specific SaaS security products to a firewall deal to get added profitability while expanding your deal size.
