Cisco Receives Top Certifier award from the Wi-Fi Alliance – Cisco Blogs
I’m excited to announce that Cisco Systems has been recognized as a Wi-Fi Alliance 2020 Top 10 Certifier based on the number of Wi-Fi devices it certified for interoperability in 2020. And I’m not talking about a handful of certs, I’m talking about more than 170 individual product certifications!
Dedication to standards and integration
For many across the world, Wi-Fi is the preferred means to connect to the online resources they want and need. Cisco recognizes that great Wi-Fi depends on more than innovative radio and antenna technology. It takes a tested, interoperable ecosystem to ensure that Wi-Fi technology from multiple vendors can work together to provide a seamless, always-connected experience. That’s exactly what Cisco has done through its commitment to Wi-Fi Alliance certification and why it earned a Top Certifier status in 2020. According to the Wi-Fi Alliance, this achievement is awarded to those that show “exemplary dedication to high quality Wi-Fi, which in turn benefits end users and advances the Wi-Fi experience.”
Also, from the leadership of the Wi-Fi Alliance, Cisco received the following accolades. “Wi-Fi Alliance congratulates Cisco for being a Top Certifier in 2020, and for their commitment to the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED program,” said Edgar Figueroa, president and CEO, Wi-Fi Alliance. “This achievement reflects exemplary dedication to secure, interoperable, and high-quality Wi-Fi, which in turn benefits users and advances the Wi-Fi experience.”
Wi-Fi Security is in our DNA
In addition to this award, Cisco’s Stephen Orr was recognized for his continuous efforts to secure Wi-Fi communications across networks, airwaves, and devices. Stephen has served as the Chair of the Security Task Groups at the Wi-Fi Alliance for several years and his efforts to drive the certification of WPA3 as the next generation of Wi-Fi security highlight his dedication to the industry.
A big thank you to the Wi-Fi Alliance and its members
Cisco would like to thank the Wi-Fi Alliance for these recognitions and for the opportunity to be part of such a great organization. Cisco continues to lead and drive the wireless industry with products, solutions, and award-winning innovations. Our work in meeting the Wi-Fi Alliance’s stringent standards, means customers can be confident that the Cisco products they use provide heterogenous support, interoperability, and security functionality across a diverse set of Wi-Fi CERTIFIED devices.
