A simplified and optizmized network solution for One Communications – Cisco Blogs

One Communications, previously known as Albanian Mobile Communications, was founded in 1996 as the first mobile telecommunications company in Albania. One Communications is guided by a vision to be the leading integrated operator in the Albanian market in all segments and geographic areas. The company provides products and services to businesses and strives for excellent customer service.

IT Director for One Communications, Svetoslav Nanchev, joined the company in 2019. His team manages hardware and software upgrades, and when the  existing network became outdated, they oversaw a complex reconfiguration project to provide additional visibility and support disaster recovery efforts.

“The first step was to address our foundation, which for any architecture is its data center network. Virtualization was the clear path forward,” Nanchev noted. “At the time, we had to manage more than a dozen applications. We decided to consolidate everything using a single hypervisor and integrate it with the network, which would require fewer people to implement and maintain these virtual machines.”

With support from Cisco partner Telelink Business Services, One Communications deployed Cisco’s Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) solution.
