Announcing Dell Technologies APEX Cloud Services with VMware Cloud – Cloud Blog – VMware
Welcome to VMworld 2021.
In my recent article: How The World Of Multiple Clouds Is Becoming Multi-Cloud (forbes.com), I mentioned we have found that many enterprises are in the process of multiyear cloud migrations and application modernization efforts. During the pandemic, many of those same companies pulled forward plans to compensate for the lack of easy data center access and, in some cases, the delayed supply of compute, storage and networking enterprise infrastructure hardware.
VMware Cloud on Dell EMC is on-premises infrastructure (compute, storage and networking) as a cloud service offering, bringing the cloud operating model to the data center and edge locations. Companies across a variety of industries, including Insurance, Government, Finance and Healthcare are already realizing significant benefits from VMware Cloud on Dell EMC | Infrastructure as a Service. By adopting a fully managed cloud service, customers avoid the capital overhead and wasted cycles of managing infrastructure. And the cloud economics are compelling, with 25% average TCO savings, 50% average licensing cost avoidance and up to 44% lower workload migration costs (VMware, Inc. VMware Cloud on Dell EMC Economic Analysis, 2021).
Today Dell Technologies, in collaboration with VMware, is launching a new infrastructure as a service offering that allows organizations to deploy pre-configured cloud instances in their data center or at an edge location or co-location facility. This service delivers a cloud operating model with performance, predictable spend, consistent operation and better security of on-premises infrastructure, deployed where it matters most to customers. This solution is in private preview now with planned availability in VMware’s Q4 FY2022.
This is an important milestone for VMware and for Dell Technologies. We expect organizations to continue the momentum in accelerated cloud migration and application modernization. Companies who are in the cloud expansion and transformation journey will have another choice for their infrastructure as a service needs.
