AWS re:Invent is back in person for 2021 – providing the opportunity for viewing of their world-class content in the flesh. If you decide to attend, here’s a few things to pay attention to, and do:
- Get vaccinated and be comfortable with masks. If you’ve coming in person, AWS requires you to be vaccinated as well as wear a mask at all sessions. You’ll need your 2nd dose (or single shot) completed by 11/14/21. A negative test will not suffice.
- Pay attention to the AWS Code of Conduct.
- Register – $1,799 (or free for virtual attendance) and book travel and accommodations for Las Vegas, NV.
- Watch the web series “How to re:Invent” and learn what you should, versus shouldn’t be doing (example: Don’t book sessions which are in different facilities and too far away from one another).
- Sign up for sessions! Find the session you want by topic, speaker or even AWS Service. They may be “sold out” but look for duplicate sessions (re-runs) or attend virtually.

- Looking for an AWS certification? Take it at re:Invent! A great way to justify the value of the trip is to go, learn and get certified while on site – all in the same place on the same week.
- Upload your photo online prior to arriving – it’ll save you a few moments at registration (and the other people in line behind you will appreciate it)
- Attend the 10th annual re:Play party on Thursday, December 2nd at 7:30pm for an amazing lineup, featuring all the classic re:Play activities like dodgeball and Office Chair Grand Prix, plus, a very special musical headliner.
- Visit our Trend Micro booth, #777, to play our in-booth challenge. For more information on our virtual activities and to sign up for our virtual challenge on November 29th, click here.
As you are prepping for the upcoming conference, be certain to do the work necessary to get the most out of the investment. What projects does your team have for 2022? Now would be a great time to get insight and knowledge from your AWS partners on their best practices and recommendations. Then, take the information to the partner hall and speak to the partners who will help you accomplish your projects – setup meetings with them too (not just a “booth trick-or-treat walk”) – make some progress and take advantage of everyone being in the same spot at the same time.
