Today is the day that Microsoft is making Azure VMware Solution generally available in their Azure Government regions. Public sector customers looking to migrate their VMware-based IT operations to a cloud meeting U.S. government requirements will find Azure VMware Solution in Azure Government to offer a fast and compliant path to Azure.
Today’s transition from public preview to general availability comes with several important enhancements. The Azure Government Arizona region joins the Virginia region in offering Azure VMware Solution. In addition to hourly on-demand pricing, Azure VMware Solution in Azure Government is now available with 1-year and 3-year Reserved Instances, providing savings of up to 50%. Also, customers running Azure VMware Solution in Azure Government regions join Azure commercial region customers in benefitting from full support by Microsoft and their 99.9% uptime Service Level Agreement (SLA).
With general availability now in Azure Government, we’re eager to work with Microsoft to share the cloud migration successes of our many Azure VMware Solution commercial customers with those in the public sector.
