Celebrating Two Amazing Leaders – Cisco Blogs
Customers and partners are an integral part of Cisco’s DNA and I am so proud of how our teams work passionately each day to support these communities in the best ways possible. For the past four years, Gerri Elliott has led our Sales and Marketing team and been an incredible advocate for customers, partners, and Cisco teams alike, guiding them through some of the most complex times we’ve experienced.
Today, I am sharing that Gerri has made the decision to retire and Jeff Sharritts will join Cisco’s Executive Leadership Team as Executive Vice President and Chief Customer and Partner Officer, effective May 1, 2022. Gerri and Jeff will work together over the next few months to ensure a seamless transition for our customers, partners, and teams.
I am excited to see Jeff step into this role, as he is an outstanding leader. He has an amazing ability to balance seeing the big picture with tremendous attention to detail. His love of technology and dedication to customers is evident in every interaction. He is both humble and confident, and he deeply cares about his team. He also believes in the power of technology and its role to make this world a better place.
Jeff started as a partner account manager at Cisco more than 20 years ago, and since then has held a variety of roles throughout Sales. In his current role as Senior Vice President of the Americas, Jeff leads teams across 17 countries and six theaters, including Service Provider, Canada, Latin America, U.S. Commercial, U.S. Public Sector, and the Global Enterprise Segment. Jeff and the Americas team have played a critical role in leading our transformation towards more software and subscription-based revenue models, developing and scaling selling motions that are foundational to our future. His approach to leadership, Cisco tenure, commitment to always putting customers first, and passion for winning make him the right person to lead this team forward.
With Jeff’s leadership, I am confident our Sales and Marketing organization will continue building on our strong foundation to drive our continued business transformation, accelerate our opportunities, and deliver the very best to our customers and partners.
We are grateful for all that Gerri has done to make Cisco a better place with the lasting impression she has made. We also know that there is no one better than Jeff to take the reins and we look forward to seeing all that he and the team will accomplish.
