Cisco Announces Intent to Acquire Involvio
Life today looks a little different than it did before; you see it across the board in the way people work and in the way students learn. In this world of hybrid work and hybrid learning, being able to collaborate and stay connected is more important than ever.
And just like business leaders and employees, teachers and students – and parents like me – have realized that you don’t have to be together in person to connect, collaborate and get things done. Cisco Webex provides a secure and inclusive platform that enables you to do just that – connect wherever and whenever you need.
Over the last several months, we’ve seen that hybrid learning can be an effective way to connect teachers, students and parents. To provide a more robust experience for work and learning in this new hybrid future, Cisco is excited today to announce our intent to acquire Involvio LLC, a New York-based software company and leading student experience platform.
Involvio offers a suite of education-focused products that help colleges and universities improve student experience, engagement, and retention. The Involvio team assisted Cisco in architecting Webex Education Connector, an integration that securely embeds Webex collaboration capabilities into learning management systems. As an early adopter of Webex’s open APIs and SDKs, Involvio’s integrations are among the fastest growing and most used in our ecosystem. The acquisition, together with the Involvio team’s extensive knowledge of our developer tools, will enhance our education offerings and vertical solutions while also catalyzing the expansion of the Webex open platform for other developers.
In addition to the recently announced acquisitions of Slido, Socio, IMI and Babblelabs, the acquisition of Involvio is another building block of our strategy to develop specialized experiences, and evidence of our continued commitment to investing in technologies that will provide our customers with exceptional collaboration experiences. From the home office to the conference room to the classroom, Webex is committed to accelerating the pace of innovative solutions that equip people to learn and work effectively.
We look forward to completing the acquisition and welcoming the Involvio team to Cisco in the fourth quarter of FY21.
