Cisco SD-WAN achieves PCI-DSS compliance – Cisco Blogs

We are happy to announce Cisco SD-WAN Cloud has achieved PCI-DSS 3.4 Attestation of Compliance (AOC) as a Level 1 Service Provider. Level 1 requires the most stringent assessment, and it is the highest security standard. While Cisco SD-WAN does not store PCI data, it does maintain Cisco hosted cloud environment, as displayed in below diagram, to meet PCI security standards including quarterly penetration tests and vulnerability scans of the controllers.
The Benefits of Cisco SD-WAN
Digital transformation is widely adopted by the retail industry and retailers are taking advantage of SD-WAN capabilities to scale their network. From here on, there will only be an upward trend. As more consumers get accustomed to online shopping, retailers will need to continuously enhance the customer experience, improve operations, and battle the ongoing threat. With increased online shopping and hence increased exposure to cybercriminals, the right security and compliance measures are more important than ever before.
Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliance is an industry-wide accepted set of security standards that measures global compliance and safety of the environment in which credit card data is accepted, processed, stored, or transmitted. Since the threat and vulnerabilities are not a one-time risk, PCI certification is an ongoing effort to continuously monitor the network and address any vulnerabilities.
Certifying SD-WAN solution will not only help our customers maintain a secure network, meet the business needs associated with applications, devices, and networks, but it also enables them a simplified journey to their PCI- DSS certification.
Cisco SD-WAN Attestation of Compliance (AOC) means secure access with strong access controls and monitored networks. Cisco SD-WAN maintains PCI AOC regularly for SD-WAN Controllers (vManage, vBond, vSmart) securing the infrastructure and accelerating our customer’s journey to PCI-DSS compliance.
Cisco SD-WAN AOC is available upon request and can be accessed through Cisco’s TrustPortal.
