Cisco Tees Up a More Innovative, Inclusive Tomorrow in Golf

For ultimate golf enthusiasts like me, the calendar changing to February means two important things – (1) we are one day closer to better, more consistent golfing weather, and (2) one of my favorite events on the PGA TOUR is just around the corner – the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at Pebble Beach, California.

Not only is the Pro-Am one of the most fun and unique events on the professional golf calendar, but it is also Cisco’s first significant event of the 2023 season. For years, Cisco has had a significant brand presence at this tournament, in addition to serving as the title sponsor of the adjacent charity event, the Cisco Million Dollar Hole-in-One for Charity.

Teeing Up Tomorrow to bridge broadcast and on-site experiences

This year, we’re excited to use the occasion to debut our new platform across our golf portfolio – Teeing Up Tomorrow. As our presence in the sport has grown over the past several years, so has our focus on using the game of golf as a means of advancing our corporate purpose: to power a more inclusive future for all. With partnerships spanning many facets of the sport – from the United States Golf Association (USGA) to the Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) Tour to Stephen Curry’s UNDERRATED Golf Tour and more – Cisco is uniquely situated to use our solutions and our people to make a positive, lasting impact on the game.

That means using our technology to bring golf to fans in new, exciting ways through broadcast and on-site experiences, as we’ve been doing for years at the U.S. Open Championships alongside our partners at the USGA. It means being involved with programs like First Tee and the Pathways Internship Program, which strive to bring new faces, talent, and opportunities to bear in order to grow the game.

Teaming up to power a more inclusive future for all

We are also supporting promising golfers at all stages of the game, from all types of diverse backgrounds, as they work to achieve their dreams. We’re proud that our roster of sponsored players – Team Cisco – is one of the largest and most diverse in golf, including PGA TOUR pros Viktor Hovland, Brendon Todd, Keith Mitchell and Maverick McNealy; LPGA Tour standouts Nelly Korda, Jessica Korda and Danielle Kang; and APGA Tour players Kamaiu Johnson, Kevin Hall, Aaron Beverly, Andrew Walker and Michigan State University’s Troy Taylor II.

We recently added two new golfers to our family as well, World No. 17 and the 2022 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year Award winner Cameron Young and 8-time PGA TOUR winner and 2021 FedEx Cup Champion Patrick Cantlay. Both young men are widely respected within the golf community and by their peers, and I look forward to cheering them on as they represent the Cisco brand and join us in our mission to make the game more inclusive, connected and accessible.

Cisco sports and entertainment partnerships

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is only one of the ways that Cisco is going to show up in a big way in the sports and entertainment world in the coming weeks, with Super Bowl LVII on the horizon. Once again, the biggest television event in the United States will be played in a Cisco-powered venue at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals. As the Official Enterprise Networking Partner and an Official Cybersecurity Partner of the NFL, Cisco will be there to securely connect every minute of action, both on and off the field.

Around the world – from the NFL to McLaren Racing to Real Madrid F.C. and so many more – our sports and entertainment partnerships continue to serve as a major opportunity for Cisco to not only showcase our solutions and innovations on the largest stages, but also provide meaningful touchpoints with our customers and drive real impact for the business.

Talk about a hole-in-one!
