#CiscoChat: Addressing Climate Change through Cisco Technology – Cisco Blogs
Climate change is affecting humanity in many ways: from rising temperatures and sea levels, to more severe and frequent weather events and longer and more severe droughts. It is one of the most critical and complex challenges humanity faces.
Cisco can’t solve climate change alone, but we are doing our part. Our products make many innovations possible, yet they are powered by electricity. Product use accounts for the largest part of Cisco’s overall carbon footprint. Therefore, increasing the energy efficiency of our products is a top priority – for Cisco and our customers.
Additionally, our products and solutions enable customers to reduce their carbon footprints and their impact on climate change. For example, our IoT portfolio and power over ethernet (PoE) can make smart buildings more sustainable by controlling lighting, heating, and window shades to minimize energy use.
Join us on Friday, October 8 to learn how Cisco Silicon One and other solutions are helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions for our customers.
Speakers:
- Rakesh Chopra, Cisco Fellow and Distinguished Engineer
- Sripriya Narayanan, IoT Product Manager
- Dr. Cynthia Temesi, Country Digital Acceleration
Moderated by: Stephanie Chan, Cisco Global Communications
