Cross your kids' tablet off your shopping list for up to 50% off at Amazon
Amazon is offering some huge deals on its latest Fire Kids Tablets, my kids’ favorite device for home and on-the-go entertainment. The newest Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids tablet is half off at $70, the Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids Pro tablet for older kids is also down to $70, and the larger Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro is down to $140.
These Fire tablets are my favorite option for kids under 10 because they’re built to last. They feature an aluminosilicate glass screen that ensures the device holds up to the rowdiest kids, and if it does break within two years of purchasing, Amazon will replace it — no questions asked. They also come cloaked in a chunky rubber case for extra protection.
My kids have had a couple of generations of the Fire HD 8 Kids, Fire HD 8 Kids Pro, and Fire HD 10 Kids Pro tablets and have only had one issue: a broken screen. Our Fire HD 10 Kids Pro tablet was the victim of an accidental kick while on a hard floor and suffered a cracked screen. Because it was within two years of purchase, Amazon promptly replaced it with a new one within days. Our oldest Fire Kids tablets are over four years old now, and considering my oldest of three is a second-grader, they’ve been put through the wringer and come out unscathed.

The 8-inch and 10-inch tablets both feature an HD screen, 32GB of storage that is expandable with a microSD card, one year of Amazon Kids+, and up to 13 hours of battery life. The Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids tablet is perfect for kids 3-7 years old, while both the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro and Fire HD 10 Kids Pro tablets are built for older kids ages 6-12 who may be transitioning to a more grown-up device but may not be quite ready to protect an expensive tablet from bumps and falls.
I bought my first Fire HD 8 kids tablets during 2020’s October Prime Day event for $80, so this deal is an even bigger discount, with the Fire HD 8 and HD 8 Pro models at only $70. The 10-inch Pro version is down by $50, at $140.
