Sony/ZDNET

Black Friday is almost here, making it a great time to purchase a new speaker system for that TV you got on sale. Although the holiday shopping season is all about buying for others, who says you can’t splurge on yourself, too? If you or a loved one expressed interest in revamping your home theater products, the Sony Bravia Quad speaker set is $500 off right now.

You can take advantage of this deal at Sony and Best Buy; this speaker set is usually $2,500, but you can snag it for $2,000 this holiday shopping season.

These speakers are great because they’re wireless, meaning you can place them anywhere in a room without being tethered to wall outlets or power strips. The Sony Bravia Quad pairs to a wireless receiver box that connects to the TV. Although these speakers can connect to most TVs, they’re the most compatible with Sony Bravia TVs (our favorite, the Sony Bravia X90L, is also on sale for Black Friday).

Compatible Bravia TVs allow access to features like controlling the Quad from the TV menu and Acousitc Center Cync. These speakers don’t have a center audio channel, but compatible Bravia TVs use the TV speakers as the center channel. Additionally, PS5 users with Bravia TVs can access exclusive features like HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.

The Bravia Quad set supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced audio formats and 4K HDR, 8K HDR, and Dolby Vision video formats. Gamers can enjoy VRR, $K120, and ALLM video features.

Sony 260 Realty Audio brings spatial audio to the Bravia Quad when Dolby Atmos formats are unavailable. The Bravia Quad also supports wireless audio streaming from your devices via Spotify Connect, AirPlay, and Bluetooth.

Each speaker in the set consists of two full-range speakers, two upfiring speakers, one tweeter, and one woofer. You can pair this set with a compatible Sony external subwoofer for added bass and immersiveness in your home theater setup.
