Huawei talks tech at MWC 2022: building an intelligent services portfolio
Huawei Enterprise Business Group (EBG) offers a wide range of products and solutions. It supplies solutions, products, services and tools that span the full range of enterprise ICT, including Huawei’s own cloud platform, networking, data centers, storage and enterprise services. At Mobile World Congress 2022, Huawei Enterprise Services made several announcements such as its plans for Huawei digital transformation lifecycle services.
Huawei provides enterprises and governments with a full-lifecycle services portfolio. At Mobile World Congress 2022, we interviewed Hank Stokbroekx, vice-president of Huawei Digitization and Technical Services Department at EBG, about these offerings, including the Huawei digital transformation practice.
Huawei Enterprise Service brought two big announcements to Barcelona. The first was the significantly enhanced disaster recovery service for enterprises. “As data becomes more and more critical to our customers business continuity,” says Stokbroekx, “we have strengthened and upgraded our disaster recovery and backup service capabilities, really meeting the business continuity requirements of multi-cloud environments.”
The other announcement is Hi-Ops, an upgraded operations and maintenance (O&M) service for enterprises, which intelligently detects the full IPDS enterprise stack including infrastructure, platform, data and services in multi-cloud environments. Echoing current trends, Huawei Hi-Ops O&M service has shifted beyond detecting of infrastructure performance to focus increasingly on the availability and performance of applications and services.
Over half of the Fortune 500 have engaged Huawei as a partner for digital transformation. Huawei Enterprise services business also has a particularly strong focus on big infrastructure, including the energy sector, transportation and manufacturing.
Like many others, Stokbroekx is witnessing an acceleration in demand for digital transformation services which started during the pandemic. “Pretty much every enterprise or government around the world is looking at digital transformation,” he says. “They want to provide better services to their customers or citizens, but also to ensure business continuity, when suddenly their employees need to work remotely as we have seen in the last few years.”
Huawei Enterprise Services works across the full stack and lifecycle. It helps enterprises to transform their requirements into technology blueprints. Its 7,000-strong ecosystem of certified service partners collaborate with Huawei on deployments and support. Huawei also offers a sophisticated portfolio of in-house tools to plan, deploy and manage complex environments for clients on an ongoing basis.
‘Huawei’s already extensive partner ecosystem will continue to evolve. “Developing intelligent tools requires a significant investment,” says Stokbroekx. “We have a massive team developing tools, and we want to make more of them available to our partners to enhance their capabilities.”
Huawei’s enterprise customers can also expect more vertical industry specialisation. “As we continue developing that ecosystem, we will have more partners per vertical market. Partners that understand the finance service industry very well, or understand other industry business very well, including specific industry certification.”
Stokbroekx says Huawei’s enterprise technology and services will continue to evolve. The Huawei Enterprise dedicated in-house R&D team, he adds, continue to make substantial investments in resources for developing automation and predictive maintenance. As the complexity of enterprise infrastructure becomes ever greater, and corporate reliance on IT becomes ever deeper, this focus makes sense. As Stokbroekx argues, it’s something that our clients and partners “very much appreciate”.
