Jan Niemiec Promoted to Cisco National Security and Defense VP

I am excited to announce the promotion of Jan Niemiec to Vice-President of Cisco’s National Security and Defense Group – NSDG. NSDG is comprised of experienced professionals ranging from leading technologists, solution engineers, to veterans of the defense and intelligence community focused on strengthening the competitive posture of the Department of Defense and its industrial base for America’s National Security.

From managing our customers global networks with more than 3 million users to modernizing mission systems with intelligence-driven cybersecurity and innovation, Cisco’s National Security and Defense Group is solving the world’s toughest cyber challenges for customers with “can’t fail” missions.

Niemiec will leverage his experience in government security and innovation as well as his understanding of the company’s mission to facilitate the development and deployment of technology platforms in support of Federal and U.S. public sector.

Niemiec has been with Cisco for almost 18 years and has held many leadership roles at the company, most recently as senior director for national security operations.

Prior to Cisco, he previously worked as a regional executive at Sun Microsystems and as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force.
