The holiday shopping season is well underway, with Black Friday kicking off the craze on Friday, Nov. 29, and continuing into Cyber Monday on Dec. 2. Buying the right present for someone can be tricky. But with gamers, it’s pretty easy: get them the latest console, like the PlayStation 5.

So, what if they already have a PS5? What do you do then? Well, you can get them some PS5 accessories. And if you really want to wow the PlayStation gamer in your life, I recommend the PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle.
The PS VR2, as it’s also known, is a virtual reality (VR) headset designed to immerse players in the world of their favorite video games. Each lens houses a pair of OLED displays running at a resolution of 2,000 x 2,040 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Tempest 3D AudioTech supports the experience, enabling “realistic soundscapes” that dynamically adapt to your position. Inside the headset is a little motor that vibrates with in-game action and introduces a level of tactility to digital worlds.
Paired with the headset are the VR2 Sense controllers, which add even more to the immersion by having their own haptic feedback, and finger touch detection and adaptive triggers. Critics (including us) and players have praised the PS VR2 for being an excellent VR headset for gaming.

At a glance, the PS VR2 is very similar to the Meta Quest 3, but there’s a distinct difference: it cannot operate independently. The PS VR2 must be connected to a PlayStation 5 to work. Sony’s device offers a gaming experience that few can replicate on the console.
The bundle includes a free download code for Horizon Call of the Mountain, a member of an elite (and growing) group of PS VR2 games. Set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by machines, players trek up a mountain known as the Sunspear to uncover its secrets. Online user reviews indicate it is one of the better titles for the headset. The PlayStation V2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle is on sale for $350 on Amazon and Sony’s storefront.
It’s unknown exactly when the Amazon deal will expire. There isn’t a set date, although it does have a Black Friday Deal notification, so it may go away after Nov. 29. However, the deal can go on longer. The product listing on Sony’s PlayStation states the deal ends on Jan. 2, 2025.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, which in 2024 falls on Nov. 29, and can be considered the start of the holiday shopping season.
