Microsoft is a Cisco Live 2022 Sponsor

I am so excited to have Microsoft as a Cisco Live sponsor. Cisco and Microsoft have partnered for more than a decade. Cisco continues to leverage Microsoft innovations to deliver solutions that connect people and optimize business outcomes.

I’d like to highlight just a few of the areas where the Cisco partnership with Microsoft is bringing value to our mutual customers and encourage you to visit the Microsoft booth #1366 at Cisco Live to learn more for yourself.

Full-stack Observability

More than ever, digital experiences have become the way we live, going from being a convenience to a necessity. Today’s end users now have a low tolerance for bad digital experiences and are quick to blame the brand of the application or digital service regardless of who is responsible. Organizations have little room for error with 57 percent of users reporting that brands have one shot to impress them, and that if a digital service does not perform, they won’t use them again. – Full-stack Observability from Cisco At-a-Glance.

To help organizations deliver optimal user experiences when workloads and applications are running on Microsoft Azure, Cisco offers its Full-stack observability (FSO) portfolio of products. This FSO portfolio consists of AppDynamics, ThousandEyes and Intersight Workload Optimizer, which complement a broad range of other Cisco products available in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace in support of use cases like hybrid workplace, hybrid workforce, and secure access service edge (SASE).

Full-stack observability provided by Cisco® solutions moves beyond domain monitoring into full-stack visibility, insights, and actions, transforming siloed data into actionable insights that provide shared context for IT teams. In addition, the Cisco FSO offering enables an observable and optimizable technology stack to streamline IT operations. With unified contextual insights driven from a single solution providing full-stack observability across an entire application landscape, organizations can deliver exceptional digital experiences to their users and correlate these experiences to the impact on their business.

Secure, Cloud-ready Network with Cisco SD-WAN Cloud OnRamp for Microsoft Azure Virtual WAN

When customers run workloads in hybrid cloud environments – including Azure as a popular public cloud environment for enterprise customers – IT organizations need to extend connectivity from their on-premises sites to the Azure cloud.

In response to this need, Cisco and Microsoft worked together to integrate Cisco SD-WAN with Microsoft Azure Virtual WAN to create a hybrid WAN architecture that is truly a modern transit architecture for cloud connectivity. It extends the Cisco SD-WAN fabric between branch sites and on-premises data centers to the Microsoft Azure Cloud.

This integration enables customers to seamlessly extend their SD-WAN overlay into Azure, improving cloud connectivity from branch offices. Customers can also use the Microsoft Azure global network for connectivity from one region to another region. This solution provides the optimal and most secure way to connect branch sites to Microsoft Azure, taking advantage of Azure Firewall in virtual WAN hubs to secure branch-to-Microsoft Azure Virtual Network traffic.

Enabling Secure Hybrid Remote Workforce with Cisco SD-WAN integration with Microsoft 365

Without a doubt, the Microsoft 365 suite of cloud-hosted as-a-service offerings – including Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft SharePoint – are leading applications in use by enterprises today. Delivering optimal experiences for these applications is critically important to IT organizations, but the user experience is heavily dependent on network connectivity performance. Here, customers can always rely on Cisco SD-WAN integration with Microsoft 365 to connect users with the best performing network path to their online Microsoft 365 applications.

Cisco Webex video integration for Microsoft Teams

Thanks to an integration between Webex and Microsoft Teams, people invited to a Microsoft Teams meeting can join the meeting directly from Webex with One Button to Push (OBTP) or by dialing directly into the meeting.

With OBTB, when users schedule Microsoft Teams meetings and include Webex devices, a Join button appears on those devices right before the meeting begins. Alternatively, if the user’s device is paired to the Webex application, users can join with one button from the application. Either way, users simply tap Join to enter the meeting.

Cisco Unified Computing Systems (UCS) server world record

The Cisco partnership with Microsoft even extends to setting world records! The Cisco C245 M6 server powered by the third generation AMD EPYC processor achieved a TPC-H 30TB world record for Microsoft SQL Server 2019.

Cisco and Microsoft partnering for customer success

Whether setting world records, providing visibility into application performance, or enabling more streamlined collaboration, Cisco and Microsoft continue to partner in a wide variety of areas to help our mutual customers deliver optimal user experiences and achieve the business outcomes that translate into business success.
