Sharp partners with Xumo to run its future line of QLED smart TVs
At today’s Consumer Electronics Show 2025 in Las Vegas, we learned that Xumo will take the helm as the operating system for Sharp’s new line of QLED TVs set to launch next spring.
Sharp is the fourth company to link itself to Xumo’s OS train, including Pioneer, Hisense, and the budget-friendlier, Element. Lately, Xumo hasn’t enjoyed high visibility on the market. Perhaps Sharp’s adoption of the tech could change that.

Xumo is the product of a joint venture between Comcast and Charter to create a streaming platform with an intuitive interface and voice-command navigation. That’s nothing especially new, but Sharp is confident in its decision to move forward with the platform, which has been evolving over the past 14 years.
According to Stephanie Cassi, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing at Xumo, the company took aim at the challenge of maximizing content discoverability.
“Xumo’s platform,” she said, “is all about making streaming easy for customers — getting them to the content they want to watch faster and spending less time searching across apps to find something new.”

Sharp’s AQUOS is a 4K QLED with Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10, as well as Dolby Atmos sound. The TV is reportedly “frameless,” which can make a dazzling QLED screen look even more futuristic.
“We believe that combining our intuitive user interface with Sharp AQUOS QLED creates a best-in-class viewing experience,” Cassi added.
Sharp’s new line of AQUOS QLED 4K UHD TVs featuring Xumo will be available next spring in models ranging from 50 to 85 inches. Stay tuned for future details on pricing.
