Six ways Tencent Cloud supports an enterprise’s global expansion
Since its inception in 2019, the Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Conference has been showcasing Tencent’s latest technology advances, products, and solutions, and inspiring enterprises worldwide.
Its sixth edition was recently held in Shenzhen from September 5-6 under the theme Intelligence Brings Opportunities, Cloud Boosts Growth. In addition to the main summit, this year’s event featured 136 sub-forums covering areas such as digital ecosystems, enterprise globalization, product technology, and smart industries.
Tencent Cloud took the opportunity at the Tencent Cloud International Session during the main summit to share how it leverages AI innovations, cutting-edge media services, and a comprehensive global cloud infrastructure that can help global enterprises expand their reach even further. Meanwhile, at the Enterprise Globalization Summit, Tencent Cloud joined forces with leading outbound enterprises and thought leaders to examine globalization trends, share industry insights and actionable knowledge, and explore ways to achieve leaps in innovative development, accelerating the globalization of Chinese enterprises through technology.
Through the summit, Tencent Cloud highlighted its globalization strategy, which focuses on the global expansion of standard product capabilities while actively enhancing customized services and scenario-based solutions.
Six key Tencent Cloud advantages to globalization
From the two summits on internationalization and globalization at this conference, IDC identifies six key takeaways of how Tencent Cloud supports enterprises’ global growth initiatives:
- Strong technological capabilities: With billions of monthly active users, Tencent Cloud’s expertise spans cloud-native tech, AI (like Hunyuan LLM), big data, networking, and security, delivering high-quality solutions for global enterprises, such as Singapore’s Bitsmedia’s Muslim Pro app for live streaming.
- Super-app solutions: Tencent Cloud helps businesses build super-apps with mini program containers, as seen with Indonesia’s TribunX, integrating news, video, and e-commerce for a comprehensive user experience.
- Rich industry expertise: Tencent Cloud’s experience in finance, gaming, and media enables tailored solutions. For instance, the UAE’s TAMM platform integrates 700+ government services through Tencent’s mini-program.
- Global reach and localized services: Tencent Cloud operates 58 availability zones across 21 regions and 3,200 acceleration nodes, with 24/7 support from nine global technical centers.
- Extensive partner network: With over 11,000 global partners, including resellers and SaaS providers, Tencent Cloud’s partner ecosystem is a key driver of its international expansion.
- Exceptional user experiences: Tencent Cloud delivers superior user experiences through innovation. In Abu Dhabi, Tencent launched a Weixin mini-program and a digital human, “Khalifa,” enhancing tourism for Chinese visitors.
Over the past three years, Tencent Cloud has achieved steady double-digit growth in overseas markets, establishing a presence across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East. Despite this success, challenges remain.
IDC recommends Tencent Cloud focus on four areas: investing in technology R&D, especially in large models and generative AI; strengthening localized operations and compliance; deepening engagement in key industries and regions; and expanding its partner ecosystem.
