Slash $200 off the OnePlus Open with this deal and get a free smartwatch

With the weather heating up, so too are smartphone deals. And OnePlus is back, offering a new deal for the OnePlus Open at its official website. Enter the code “SPRING25” at checkout, and you shave $200 off the foldable’s price tag, bringing it down to $1,500.
Admittedly, this isn’t as good as past discounts, which introduced a $500 price drop. That’s because the savings have been moved elsewhere. On top of the $200 discount, OnePlus also offers a free OnePlus Watch 2, which normally retails for $300. You can get the wearable in either Black Steel or Radiant Steel (gray).

Be aware that this deal only applies to the OnePlus Open in Voyager Black. The Emerald Dusk (green) variant can be discounted by $200, but it does not include the smartwatch. The most you’ll receive is a 10% discount on the OnePlus Buds Pro 3.
We’ve branded the OnePlus as one of the best foldable phones out there, and now might be the best time to purchase it. A couple of months ago, the company confirmed that it won’t be releasing the OnePlus Open 2 in 2025. Grabbing the original model will be your best option if you want the best OnePlus foldable experience in 2025.

It’s not all doom and gloom. OnePlus has stated that it will launch other new products this year, like the recently released OnePlus Watch 3, and made it clear that it is not departing from the foldable phone market.
For now, this is a great offer to take advantage of, and ZDNET experts remain impressed with the OnePlus Open. In his review, ZDNET contributing writer Matthew Miller highlights the key features that make the mobile device so good. The OnePlus Open boasts a vibrant, 2K main display that, when unfolded, measures 7.82 inches diagonally. He points out that the crease on this screen “is nearly non-existent… and the anti-reflective layer makes the big display a complete joy to use daily while commuting on the train.”

Another prominent feature is Open Canvas, which lets you open up to three apps simultaneously. Tapping one of those enlarges it while tucking the others away. In his review, ZDNET senior review editor Kerry Wan says that this tool “puts OnePlus ahead of Samsung and Google software.”
This deal does have a catch: It is only available when purchasing the OnePlus Open in Voyager Black; it does not extend to the Emerald Dusk or Crimson Shadow variants, both of which are out of stock.
Joining OnePlus’ trade-in program could potentially save you even more money. For example, trading in an iPhone 14 Pro can net you up to $258 in savings. What’s more, shoppers have the option to add one of three accessories to their purchase. However, most of them don’t offer any discounts apart from the Buds Pro 3, which I mentioned earlier. You can add on another OnePlus Watch 2 or the OnePlus Watch 2R at full price.
How I rated this deal
Because the discount is small, ZDNET’s rating system grants this promotion a 2/5. However, if you include the free OnePlus Watch 2, you could argue that the deal is actually a 4/5. $500 is about 30% of $1,700, which is the foldable’s full price. In whatever way you look at it, OnePlus is delivering a killer deal, and one I recommend taking advantage of while it lasts.
Per OnePlus, this offer will end on April 13, 2025 in the United States.
