The best vacuum and mop combination I've tested is from a company you've never heard of

Each year, CES tends to be a whirlwind of futuristic robots, electric vehicles, and even smart home devices. But a lot of the most eye-catching technology featured at the showcase is either years away from making it to market or too ambitious to ever make it at all — not to mention that much of it, while extraordinary, tends to be too inconvenient for real-world use. But this year, one company is making major strides into the robot vacuum and smart home cleaning devices.

Mova, a smart home company making its CES debut this week, is launching a new lineup of robot vacuums into the US market, including a flagship Mova V50 Ultra and Z50 Ultra. The company is also launching a new wet/dry vacuum and mop called the Mova X4 Pro, and even an electric toothbrush, the Mova Fresh Pro.

These launches and Mova’s appearance at CES mark the company’s entry into the US market, which is currently flooded with robot vacuums. Mova hopes its robots’ innovative features make them stand out to consumers.

The flagship Mova V50 Ultra features an industry-leading 24,000Pa of suction power — the highest among any robot vacuum we’ve seen yet — including Roborock’s new Saros Z70 with a mechanical arm. The V50 Ultra also features a MopSwap Hub in the base station, which houses three types of mop pads in a carousel that the robot can automatically equip. The mop pads specialize in tile floors, hardwood, and general cleaning.

A retractable track-type mop can extend to clean corners and edges along carpets, a technology Mova calls RoboSwing FlexTrack. When the robot is near hard-to-reach spots, like a corner, the mop extends to clean them and then retracts to continue general mopping. The V50 Ultra also features an extendable side brush to direct dust and debris from corners towards the nozzle. This flagship robot vacuum can also tackle up to 2.3-inch high thresholds.

The Mova Z50 Ultra features hot water mopping up to 97F to tackle stubborn stains on hard floors and an AI-powered cleaning strategy to detect varying dirt levels. This robot vacuum and mop can even fluff its mop pads in real time to maintain cleaning efficiency.

Mova X4 Pro wet/dry vacuum

I’ve been testing the Mova X4 Pro for a couple of weeks and can attest it is the best wet/dry vacuum and mop I’ve tried. After using options from Roborock, Narwal, and Tineco, Mova appears to have perfected the wet/dry vacuum science with the X4 Pro. It has an efficient system that is easy to clean and maintain, as well as extra features like hot water mopping and lay-flat technology. These attributes result in the strongest cleaning power out of all the similar devices I’ve tested.

The X4 Pro has some standout features that perform just as Mova intended, like hot water mopping up to 176F and SpotHeat spray cleaning, a spray of hot water that helps remove the toughest stains on my floors.

Aside from all-over vacuuming and mopping in one go, I’ve used the X4 Pro to clean up sticky and greasy messes, like spilled turkey gravy from a holiday dinner and spilled milk from one of the kids. The Mova X4 Pro has tackled these expertly, vacuuming the messes and mopping the floor in one fell swoop without leaving streaky, sticky, or greasy floors behind.

These wet/dry vacuums can be difficult to maintain, often featuring a lot of small parts that can develop odors if they’re not thoroughly cleaned after each use. While the X4 Pro features a similar system to other brands, it is easier to disassemble the dirty water tank and filter to clean it than others. It’s also much less prone to odors than the ones I’ve tested, and it’s the first one I’ve used that doesn’t require you to lift the unit to set it on the dock. After a cleaning, you just need to park the X4 Pro on its charging dock.

While no specifics on price have been announced, Mova is launching the V50 Ultra, Z50 Ultra, X4 Pro, and Fresh Pro in 2025. The company also announced that it would give its robot and wet/dry vacuums a three-year warranty. We’ll update this article when pricing information becomes available.
