The direction to a smarter, more efficient future workplace – Cisco Blogs
MazeMap has been helping users find their way through university campuses, hospitals, offices, hotels, and event venues for nearly a decade. But in truth, MazeMap is more than a digital wayfinding platform. With help from Cisco technology, MazeMap also delivers space booking, asset tracking, and indoor positioning capabilities. You need just the MazeMap app and a Wi-Fi connection to ensure an efficient, productive future workspace.
At building entrances, kiosks powered by Webex by Cisco and MazeMap guide visitors to meetings and appointments efficiently, saving time and aggravation.
In addition, employees at organizations of all sizes and types can use MazeMap to identify and reserve meeting spaces. At meeting time, integration with Webex devices like the Webex Board alerts users if the room has reached capacity. Too many attendees? MazeMap’s split-room feature automatically books a second room, provides directions, and bridges the Webex devices, limiting disruption.
“Obviously, maximizing the use of a workspace translates to energy and resource savings. The bigger impact is how much more productive employees are with a smart solution in place,” explains Marine Shrestha, director of Strategic Partnerships at MazeMap. “MazeMap does everything for them. With the split-room feature, people won’t have to waste time finding another room, rebooking a space, or setting up equipment. All those wasted minutes can add up for a business. And when employees trust their workplace, it creates an environment where they can think, work, and collaborate faster.”
Finding assets and protecting spaces in the future workspace
Boosting employee efficiency is about more than ensuring meeting time isn’t wasted. For instance, in hospitals and other large facilities, MazeMap with Cisco DNA Spaces and tracking tags allows staff to find equipment quickly. Need a wheelchair? Access MazeMap on the facility’s network, pull up the map, and search for “wheelchairs” to locate the one closest to you.
With DNA Spaces, MazeMap also allows decision-makers to see where people are located in a physical space. Doing so can help control overcrowding and ensure organizations meet capacity or distancing protocols. In addition, the data available from the integrated solution allows analysis of user trends. For example, large groups accessing a building’s lobby or cafeteria might show that the spaces should be redesigned or reconfigured. Also, if this happens at key times of day, it could indicate the need to stagger arrival and departure times.
