The iPhone 16 was just unveiled, but Samsung's slashing the Galaxy S24 Ultra by up to $870

It may be Apple iPhone 16 event day, but Samsung isn’t looking to celebrate the competition. Instead, the Discover Samsung Fall sale event kicks off today, unlocking access to fresh deals everyday, exclusive bundle offers, and weeklong savings on top mobile devices, TVs, tablets, appliances, and more from the brand. Perhaps one of the best deals we’ve seen? A chance to save up to $870 on the Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone with a device trade-in — that’s a whopping 61% off.

Discounted prices for the S24 Ultra start at $1,000, and you’ll have three storge options to choose from: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The S24 Ultra is available in four standard colors (Titanium Black, Titanium Violet, Titanium Gray, and Titanium Yellow) and three exclusive online-only colors (Titanium Green, Titanium Blue, and Titanium Orange).

ZDNET’s Editor in Chief Jason Hiner, who reviewed the S24 Ultra back in Feb. 2024, said the device brings an unexpected number of excellent new features to a product lineup that was already among the top smartphones. “If you’re coming from a phone that is at least two years old, the S24 Ultra will feel like a superphone … The S24 Ultra is a joy to look at and use all day long. The camera system is more versatile than ever and has modes for nearly every possible shot you could want, and the AI features, especially Circle to Search and Live Translation, make those tasks smoother and more frictionless,” Hiner said in his review

Hiner noted then that if you’re buying this phone on a carrier plan where you’re spreading out the payments monthly, getting the S24 Ultra may only cost you $5-10 more per month than the standard S24 or S24 Plus. There’s a lot to love in this product for a few extra dollars a month, Hiner says, and it’s likely to continue to feel like an advanced smartphone for years to come. Plus, with even extra savings right now thanks to Samsung’s fall sale, it’s a great time to make an upgrade.
