I’ve tested many air purifiers over the years, but none of them are quite like this one. The SwitchBot Air Purifier Table is a 4-in-1 device that looks like an end table but serves as a large-capacity air purifier, wireless charger, and nightlight.
I like having an air purifier in most rooms of my home to reduce airborne allergens, odors, and particles. In my guest room, for example, I used to have a large purifier and a side table as a nightstand. When I got this SwitchBot Purifier Table, however, it replaced both items — and the job better at the same time.

The air purifying feature is so quiet that this table has been a perfect addition to the guest room. I’ve had it for about two months, serving three guests during that time, who’ve used all of its features, even the nightlight for ambient lighting.
The air purifying feature also appears to be effective at removing air pollutants. It has three modes: Auto, Pet, and Sleep. The device’s body features a three-layer filtration system, including a washable pre-filter, a HEPA filter, and a third carbon filter.
As a charger, the SwitchBot Air Purifier Table served its purpose of wirelessly charging devices overnight while our guests slept. The wireless charger portion of the tabletop is a raised circle, which I admit, was one of my initial dislikes. But I came to appreciate the circle when trying to set down my phone to charge during the night, where I could feel the table and know exactly where to place it.
I always prefer an air purifier with a washable pre-filter over others without. The mesh layer catches large floating particles, including dust and hair, to prevent them from reaching the HEPA filter. This extends filter life considerably, as the replaceable HEPA filter inside the unit gets less dirty over time.
Depending on the amount of dust in your home, you can wash the pre-filter with water and soap every month or so and let it air dry before reinstalling it over the HEPA filter.

Speaking of dust, SwitchBot claims this Air Purifier Table can catch 93.45% of floating hair in 30 minutes. This would reduce pet dander and the frequency of the need to vacuum pet hair from your floors.
SwichBot also says it can remove 98.18% of odors in 30 minutes, which I tested with different cooking odors in my home. I cook often, but hate when the smell sticks to fabric, like my jacket hanging in the laundry room next to the kitchen.
This is one of the key reasons I have so many air purifiers at home. The SwitchBot Air Purifier Table has been able to remove lingering food quickly smells in the closed guest room, which helps prevent them from permeating fabrics.
The air purifier also has a PM2.5 sensor, which monitors air quality in real-time. When set to Auto Mode, the air purifier increases air volume when the sensor detects worsening air quality. I didn’t have any issues with the sensor’s sensibility and could see the air purifier kick in when cooking due to smoke in the air, and cleaning due to dust being raised around it.
While you can use the device’s buttons to control the Air Purifier Table’s settings, you can also use the SwitchBot app, with a SwitchBot Hub 2, for smart home integrations. In addition to schedules and settings, the app also provides insights into your air quality.
ZDNET’s buying advice
The SwitchBot Air Purifier Table has quickly become my favorite air purifier out of the ones in my home. It’s a device that doesn’t just take up space (like other air purifiers), but serves several purposes simultaneously. It replaced my older air purifier in the guest room and is now an extra table for our guests, along with a wireless charger compatible with different phones.
The light has ten colors to choose from, going from a nightlight to a lighting statement with the press of a button. SwitchBot plans to launch a K20+ Pro robot that can travel around your home and carry this Air Purifier Table around, stopping in different rooms to purify the air in them.
