Xiaomi's MIX Flip foldable phone is going global – here's what we know so far
Chinese phone maker Xiaomi has revealed its MIX Flip smartphone will soon leave China and roll out globally. Company founder and CEO Lei Jun said on X (formerly Twitter) that the device is hitting store shelves in other countries “this September.” In other words, within the next couple of weeks.

Little is known about the launch at the moment. Jun didn’t mention an exact date or how much the handset will cost. But, GSMArena states that the MIX Flip will cost €1,300 across Central and Eastern Europe. Do note that number comes from “what a regional manager said back in July,” so things may have changed.
Speaking of availability, don’t expect this device to arrive in the US. The ban on Xiaomi phones was lifted back in 2021; however, the company has yet to make an official appearance in the American market. The reason: Entering a market dominated by phone carriers would require a lot of time, money, and resources that Xiaomi isn’t willing to invest.
That said, it is possible to buy unlocked Xiaomi phones on Amazon. Perhaps the MIX Flip will make its American “debut” on the shopping platform not long after its global release. With all this background info out of the way, you’re probably wondering “Is this smartphone worth picking up?”
The Xiaomi MIX Flip came out back in July and is the brand’s latest flippable mobile device. When closed, the outer screen measures four inches diagonally, taking up the entire space save for a couple of spots where the cameras are located. It outputs a 1.5K image resolution at a refresh rate of 120Hz and 3000 nits of peak brightness.

It’s a unique design that allows the model to stand out against the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which has a smaller outer display. The inner screen is a 6.86-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 1225 x 2912 pixels and the same 120Hz refresh rate. Everything here is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Recent online reviews are mostly positive about the device. So if you’re interested in a solid flippable phone out of Samsung’s ecosystem (and you can actually buy it), the Xiaomi MIX Flip may be right up your alley.
